Meet Tanya

The time was right for Tanya to become a home owner for the first time.

Here’s her story…

Why did you decide to buy a home and how did you know it was the right time?

I decided that I wanted to buy a house. My lease was up on my rental place, my kids were all moved out and I was tired of paying someone else’s mortgage.

What were you looking for in a real estate agent and how many did you interview?

Someone that was easy to get along with that would listen to what I was looking for, responsive and not pushy. And honest. I interviewed two. Travis was the first one.

Why did you ultimately choose Travis to be your real estate agent?

He was very pleasant, knowledgable, welcoming, honest, funny and he was highly recommended by close friends. He is very professional but in a down to earth way. It was relaxing chatting and meeting with him.

What were you most nervous or concerned about in the process?

I was nervous and concerned about the whole process from start to finish. This was my very first time buying a house.

What surprised or stood out to you about the process?

What was involved in actually buying a house and property is not as cut and dry as you think.

What was the best part of your buying experience?

How easy Travis made it feel. How comfortable and informed Travis and Sara made me feel.

Were there stressful moments and how were they handled?

The whole process was stressful for me as it was my first time buying a home. Travis was very good at answering questions and keeping me updated and informed about each step which helped a lot. With dealing with two titles on the property it was very stressful wondering if all the work to get them would pay off. Travis never gave up.

How did Travis guide you through the buying process, including when you made an offer?

He explained every step and kept me informed. He gave suggestions on price and what to include in the offer and asked my thoughts.

Would you do anything differently?

Prepare my documents better and have everything ready to go.

What advice do you have for someone who is thinking of buying a home?

Do your research, get everything together, communicate with your realtor and mortgage specialist.

Would you hire Travis again?

Yes, when working with Travis and Sara to buy a home you feel like part of a team. The communication is great, things are explained and they take the time to answer questions. It was a great experience. I am not letting him go.
