As the holiday season approaches, many of us look forward to warm gatherings, festive traditions, and time with the people we love. But for some families in our community, this time of year can bring a different kind of stress — the challenge of making Christmas special while facing financial hardship.
For 52 years, the Spruce Grove Kinettes have been stepping up to bring hope, comfort, and joy to families who need it most. Their Christmas Hamper Program has become a long-standing tradition of kindness in our area, and every year, the impact is incredible.
Last year alone, because of community support, the Kinettes were able to help 740 families, reaching nearly 1,900 residents across Spruce Grove and surrounding areas. That’s thousands of people who were able to enjoy a brighter, more joyful holiday season because of donations from caring neighbours.
And the need hasn’t gone away.
How We Can Give Back This Season
The 2025 Christmas season is here, and the Kinettes are once again collecting new, unwrapped gifts and gift cards for children aged 17 and under.
Last year, 918 children received gifts thanks to the generosity of our community — and with your help, even more children can feel that holiday magic this year.
Here’s how you can make a difference:
🎁 Donate New, Unwrapped Gifts – Suitable for children 17 and under. Any age group is appreciated, but items for older kids and teens are often in short supply.
🎁 Donate Local Gift Cards – Gift cards from stores like Walmart, Superstore, and other local retailers are incredibly valuable — especially for kids aged 10 and up. They give families the flexibility to pick out exactly what their children need or would love to receive.
Drop off your donation to RE/MAX Preferred Choice located at Unit 4, 16 Nelson Drive, Spruce Grove by December 13th and we will make sure all collected items are transported to the official drop-off location where the elves will be working hard behind the scenes.
Why This Matters
The Spruce Grove Kinettes are a 100% volunteer-run non-profit group. Every contribution goes directly to families in our community — no overhead, no hidden costs, just pure local impact.
Their goal is simple and heartfelt: to meet the need in our area and ensure every child has something to open on Christmas morning.
